Hey guys here goes for this week's fishing report:
Moruya River - Plenty of flathead are being caught in most areas
of the river on both Gulp 3inch Shrimp Nuclear Chicken soft
plastics and live poddy mullet. Bream are being caught down
the front around Gardland Town on both live nippers and Vibes in
the deeper water. Whiting are being caught on poppers on the
hospital flats.
Tuross - Team Tackle World Moruya members Mark and Danial have
been at it again this week, catching large numbers of bream
and flathead on poppers around the edges and weed beds. The
Gillies Clear Poppers seem to be working the best on these
species. Perch are being caught up the back of the system on
Gulp 2inch Banana Prawns and 3inch Minnow Pumpkin Seeds using
a very slow retrieve.
Rocks and Beaches - Great catches of bream and whiting have been
caught this week on live beach worms. The better gutters
are on race course beach, providing a heap of salmon,
which are also around the rocks. Pilchards
hooked on a Patternosta Rig will do the job or throw out some metal
slices for the larger salmon catches.
Offshore - Captain Ron from Winda Woppa fishing charters
reports large catches of mowies, nannygai, trevalley, flathead
and some snapper all between 40 and 70m of water. The
water temperature is holding steady at a nice 20 degrees
in clear water in close, however, out wide the water has been
dirty and murky. Ron's bait of choice reccommendation this
week is fishbait.
