Hey guys, here goes for this week's fishing report:
Moruya River - Great catches of flathead, bream and
whiting are still being caught down the front, with
the bait of choice for whiting being live beach worms and for
the flathead and bream Gulp 3 inch Minnows. The trevally are
hanging around Town Wharf and are responding best to whitebait and
hard body lures. Up the back of the system, around Yarragee,
nice catches of flathead and bream can be had on Bushy's
Stiffy's.
Tuross Lakes - Plenty of excellent sized flathead, bream and
tailor are being caught over the majority of the lake, however, the
estuary perch are remaining up the back of the system in the snags
- suspending lures such as SX40's will do the trick for these
species.
Rocks and Beaches - A few salmon are still being caught off the
wall on pilchards and metal slices. Bream, whiting and
flathead are all thriving along the beaches in the gutters, with
the bait of choice being live beach worms.
Offshore - Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa fishing charters
reports large numbers of snapper, mowies, pigfish and flathead out
between 40-70m of water. For best results on the snapper,
throw out the Black Magic Snapper Snatchers with a little bit of
fish bait as well - this will ensure you hook up more often on
larger fish. Please keep in mind the size and bag limit on
the kingfish, as there are a lot of rats amongst the larger, legal,
fish.
