Moruya, Tuross and Surrounding Estuaries
Good catches of bream, flathead, whiting and tailor are being
caught down the front of these systems. Most are being caught
on shallow diving lures with Tackle World members Mark and Daniel
having some great sessions on surface lures . Tackle World member
Paul is currently down from Canberra for a week or so and so far is
having a great time catching and releasing all species
including some great estuary perch in areas where he has never
found them before. Nathan and Justine have been playing with
the Bass also with some pretty good results although you'll have to
comein store and ask him for his secret spots. Tried and
tested SX 40's and Jazz Zappa's are working a treat.
Rocks and Beaches
The salmon have been a bit of a hit and miss on the beaches this
week but down around the Bingi-Coila area when the schools
come in they have been there in big numbers. Some whiting and
bream are being caught in the gutters especially around the
windsock area. Remember best bait for these species is LIVE
Beach worms which we have available in store every Friday morning -
but be sure to be quick because they don't last long (or ring and
place an order to secure your supply).
Offshore
Capt Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports a water
temperature of 19.6 degrees celcius . With this warmer water
comes good catches of snapper in the 40m mark using squid as
bait. Ron has also caught large mowies and great tiger
flathead also using squid plus fish bait out in 45 to 50 metres of
water, with gummy sharks also out in that area over the sand.
