Hey Guys - hope everyone has enjoyed a great weeks fishing -
here goes for this weeks report.
Moruya
Some extremely nice flathead have been caught in the system this
week on squidgie silver fox from town ramp down, with nice bream
and flathead being caught on mullet fillet in the backwaters and
also around preddies wharf.
It must be warming up as Team Tackle World members Nathan and
Rhonda enjoyed a nice feed of fresh prawns straight out of the
river. As a result of this we should be able to break
out our surface lures for the bream and whiting shortly.
Tuross
With the weather going topsy-turvy the "big ones" seemed to shut
down for awhile however over the last couple of days the flathead
and bream are back on the chew. Over ten nice flathead were
caught and released in a 2 hour session the other day on squidgie
bloodworm wrigglers 100 mm, while diving lures are working a treat
around the weedbeds. Head upstream and have some fun with the
estuary perch on Strada Quika's.
Beaches and Rocks
Broulee is "boiling" with salmon at the moment, with the
breakwall also producing some nice bream, salmon and tailor on
ganged pillies or Arma Twisty's.
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports good catches of
snapper - up to 3.5 kg in size straight off the front of the river
in 24 metres of water. Head out into 50 m of water for a good
run of mowies, tiger flathead and snapper with 7-gill sharks up to
60 kg and some gummies around 20 kg. Ron then moved into 60
metres of water to be rewarded with some nice kingfish. The
water temperature is currently running between 15.5 and 17 degrees
celcius, so Captain Ron suggests fishing the warmer current to land
more fish.
We would like to wish all you Dad's out there a Happy Father's
Day - drop in store to secure yourself one of our Father's Day
specials including some superb baitcaster combos as well as Berkley
Dropshot nibble-tips teamed with a nice Cardinal reel and grab
yourself a free spool of 6lb Fireline as well as a spare spool for
the Cardinal. For you Dad's that are extremely serious we
have some nice Jigging outfits teamed with a beautiful Dogtooth
reel which can run at an incredible 30kg of drag. Last but
not least some nice Rovex Crossa Combo's for the "boaties" out
there.
Have a great weeks fishing everyone and remember "everyday's a
good day for fishing ... "
