Moruya River & Tuross

Moruya River is still producing nice catches of bream, in
particular around Ryans creek with a mixture of hardbodies and
fresh beach worms both working well.

There are an abundance of flathead in Tuross, however you must
check sizes carefully as there are a lot of "littlies", but in
amongst them you will find some decent catches. The fact that
there are so many "littlies" bodes well for the future with all you
guys releasing the big "girls" it's obviously paying off.

Beaches and Rocks

Goulburn Workers paid off well for Nathan and Juzz who enjoyed
nice catches of bream, whiting (yes they're still around) and
tailor - all off fresh beach worms.

The rocks are still working a treat for good catches of drummer
being pulled in off peeled prawns or cunji. Most headlands
are working well.

Team Tackle World member Nathan has been diving with a great
success rate on nice lobbies at the moment - head in store we only
have 4 pots left!!

Offshore

VIP member Damon scored some nice Snapper on the weekend
straight off the front of Moruya on Squidgy 120 mm Wrigglers.

Meanwhile, Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II set out off
Moruya and drifted slowly down to Tuross in 40 m of water and
enjoyed nice catches of snapper and flathead. All were caught
on bait fish and squid. There were a few pigs around with
good sized leatherjackets off the reefs as well. The water
temperature is currently running at 19.5 degrees celcius with a
mild current running. Broulee Surfclub (just out the front)
is also producing some very nice catches of flathead at the moment
also.

Good news!! Excellent reports of yellowfin out wide with
sizes of 100 kg plus.

Stocks of Salt Away and Stabil have now both been revamped, so
there's plenty in store to keep your tackle and motors in good
order.

Beach worms are in store NOW, so hurry to secure yourself a tub
or two!!

Moruya River

Head to Town Wharf and go for a walk down to Ryans Creek and
you'll secure yourself some nice catches of bream in this
area. Strike Pro blades are working a treat with the bait
fisho's having most luck with prawns or live beach worms - which
will be back in stock at 9.00 am tomorrow. There are still
plenty of those large tailor around the Quarry Wharf area, so it
may be a good idea to use a light wire trace down to your metal
slice. Team Tackle World member Aaron has also been enjoying
nice catches of flathead from Ryans Creek down (walking along the
bank) using Gulp 4" swimming mullet.

Tuross

Tackle World VIP member Richard reports good catches of bream on
Cranka Shads (diving hard body) around the oyster leases as well as
in the shallows around the big island. Nathan and Jazz
launched their canoes on Wednesday and enjoyed a great catch and
release session scoring Bass up to 40 cm on Sebile
Cranksters. Team Tackle World member Jade also scored bream
and mullet on Prawn Dog Surface Walkers further up the back of the
system.

Beaches and Rocks

South Head beach is producing some nice catches of bream and
flathead off live beach worms, while Salmon and Tailor are being
brought in off the Breakwall. For best results use a
Paternsoter rig with a surf popper on the top teamed with gang
hooks on the bottom.

Offshore

Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa 1 and II reports a nice water
temperature of 19.5 degrees celcius, with a good slow drift running
at the moment. The windsock produced some nice flathead in
the 20 m mark. Ron then headed out into the 30-50 metre mark
and had to do some searching but ended up with catches of snapper,
mowies and pigfish, with some exceptional gummmies around 15-25 kg
in size. Bait of choice has been squid and mullet
fillets. Throw out a diving lure such as a Strada Tracka 140
mm while trolling as there have been plenty of benito around at the
moment as well.

We have just recently returned from the annual Camping and
Outdoor Trade Show and as a result will be refurbishing this part
of our store with some great new product. Don't forget when
you're inside checking out the fishing gear there is also an
upstairs full of camping gear!!

Moruya River

The flathead are still in the River, with VIP member Merv having
a great catch and release session during the week using Gulp Banana
Prawns. Merv released at least 20 flathead and had most of
his success down around the weir area. The big tailor are still
being caught around the deep hole near Quarry Wharf on either
pillies or Arma Metal Slices - some of these tailor have been
reported to be up to 12 lb in size.

Tuross

As at this time we have unfortunately not had a report on Tuross
this week, however our staff are currently out fishing the system
now, so we should have some "stories" to tell next week!

Beaches and Rocks

Nathan and Juzz headed back down to Pedro and scored themselves
some nice bream and salmon. Not sure of the count just yet as
Nathan put in the report!! They then launched their brand new
canoes and christened them with catches of nice sized bream in one
of their favourite hot spots (sorry can't tell)!! Spud Point
has also got some really well formed gutters running along the
beach, so is well worth a fish this weekend.

Team Tackle World member Dave is also enjoying good catches of
nice drummer off the rocks.

Offshore

The "outside boys" have been enjoying good catches of squid off
Broulee on IKA UV Blast squid jigs - try some FogDog Lemon Pepper
batter to turn these squid into an extremely "yummy" meal.

Head out wide off Pedro around the 50 metre mark armed with
River2Sea jigs and experience some nice catches of kingies!
The usual reef species are also still being caught on squid and
fish bait.

VIP members keep an eye on your e-mail and letterboxes as we
reward your loyalty with some nice vouchers for you to spend "on
us"!! Please be sure to check the expiry date as these
vouchers are only good for the time specified on them. We
will also be holding an "invitation only" evening/day for VIP
members! If you have time can you please e-mail/drop in store
and let us know if you'd prefer to attend on a Saturday afternoon
(after 3 pm), of an evening 5.30-7.30 during the week, or on a
Sunday morning or Sunday afternoon. Your feedback would be
greatly appreciated.

Moruya River

Good news - the large flathead around Moruya bridge and Town
Wharf are still hanging around (as reported last week) with best
results using both 3" and 4" Swimming Mullet in the Gulp range.
Head further upstream around the Hospital for some nice catches of
both bream and estuary perch on Squidgy Bloodworm 80 mm soft
plastics. As usual big tailor are still being caught around
the deep hole near Quarry Wharf on either pillies or Arma Metal
Slices.

Tuross

VIP member, Cruiser headed down to Tuross with a fresh bucket of
"nippers" and landed himself some nice flathead, flounder and bream
- check out the live bait buckets in store they allow you to keep
your bait nice and fresh with ease of water changes.
Meanwhile, Jade and Tom headed further upstream to once again have
a great catch and release session on the bream using SX40's as well
as some nice "flatties" while trolling with Strada Pieta deep
diving hardbodies.

Beaches and Rocks

Team Tackle World members Nathan and Juzz were at it again off
Pedro and enjoyed a nice afternoon with Juzz bagging herself six
nice whiting, while Nathan enjoyed catches of two Tarwine - all
fish were caught on fresh beach worms which will once again be in
store for the weekend. Keep counting boys because I know
who's coming out on top yet again!!

Some nice drummer are also being pulled in off the rocks using
the preferred bait for this species of cunji.

Offshore

Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa enjoyed catches of flathead in
20 m of water just off the windsock, while out in the 50 m
mark he scored snapper, mowies and pigfish all off fish bait and
squid. The water is a little dirty in close, however the sea
conditions are good and the water temperature is currently running
at 19.6 degrees celcius.

Back in store - NIGHTFIRE Reels - these reels do not last long
with their "flashy" lights much loved by young and old alike!
Perhaps Mum would enjoy one for Mother's Day!! Also back in
stock STABIL fuel stabiliser to ensure the best performance out of
your outboard motor (this stabiliser can also be used in lawn
mowers, whipper snippers, etc).

Don't forget to head in store and "have a go" at the ultimate
fishing game - believe me once played never forgotten and you may
be "hooked" even better than the Marlin you can catch!

Moruya River

Prior to the lovely weather (ha ha!!) we've been experiencing,
some lucky people beat the rain to the punch to enjoy catches of
large flathead (93 cm) around Moruya bridge and Town Wharf on soft
plastics. Flatties are also being caught down the front
around the "spur" wall. The big tailor are still jumping
around the place as reported last week.

Tuross

Tackle World VIP members Jade and his side kick Tom had a great
session on Wednesday in the rain catching and releasing 20 large
bream all being hooked on the new "you beaut" Strada Tragics 40 mm
deep diving lures in and around the snags in the backwaters.

Beaches and Rocks

Unfortunately due to the inclement weather we have nothing to
report this week. However as I sit here typing, the sun is
shining and its absolutely beautiful outside so hopefully we've
seen the end of the rain!

Offshore

One lucky fisho was ecstatic when he landed a nice marlin off
Tomakin while bottom bashing! Meanwhile, Captain Ron onboard
Winda Woppa enjoyed catches of flathead straight off Moruya in 40
metres of water, and then ventured out into the 50 metre mark to be
rewarded with catches of snapper, mowies, pigfish and gummy sharks
all on fish bait and squid.

The boys out at Congo (and Michelle) are enjoying nice
catches of Squid on Tackle World IKA UV blasts squid jigs as well
as some nice snapper on Gulp soft plastics. The water
temperature is currently running at 19.2 degrees celcius with a
mild current.

But who cares about the weather? We at Tackle World Moruya
have a great answer to days when you can't get out to fish due to
bad seas or lightning strikes! Make a trip into the shop on
Sunday and join our in-store fishing comp, where you can catch

12/4/12

Moruya River

Tackle World member Nathan caught plenty of flathead in the 40
to 50 centimetre range down the front of Moruya walking the wall
using 3 inch swimming mullet as the choice of plastic.
There's also plenty of big tailor in the river as well. The lure of
choice being larger surface lures as there aerial antics when
hooked are rather spectacular.

Tuross

Tackle World VIP members Jade and his side kick Tom have been
out and about chasing bream on both Shimano lure project hard
bodies and Strada deeper diving lures. Tackle world member Evan has
also been out during the holiday period chasing Flathead on fly
with great success. He also caught numbers of Whiting on the old
favourite of ours the SX 40's.

Beaches and Rocks

The beaches have still been producing good numbers of fish this
week with TW Member Nathan getting on top of Justine (so to speak)
in catching bream and whiting on live beach worms. Salmon and the
odd shark are also being caught at night. Nice size drummer
are being caught off the rocks at south head. Salmon and
Bonito are being caught of the break all using ganged pillies early
in the morning. Off Mullimburra point the Luderick are being
hauled in mostly on green weed.

Offshore

Great catches of kingfish have been reported this week out wide
of Moruya. These fish were being caught on lives out in the 50 to
60 m of water. Also good catches snapper, large Mowies, Nannygai
and Flathead have been reported in 30 meters of water near
Broulee.

Moruya River and Tuross-

As the case was last week the upper reaches of Tuross seems to
be the hotspot for bream at the moment with the Cranka shallow
diving lures still working a treat in the snags, whilst the Cranka
vibes are still working their magic amongst the oyster
leases. The perch are still in the snags as well responding
best to Squidgy Bugs in Bloodworm. Head down to the front of
the system for some very nice flathead - some around the 90 cm mark
- on deep diving Strada Tragic lures, as well as nice whiting on
beach worms. Team Tackle World member Mark has been enjoying
great afternoon catch and release sessions walking the flats of
Moruya river catching good sized bream and flathead on Berkley
Prawn dogs (surface walkers). Moruya bridge is also producing
some nice flathead of an evening off Squidgy
Wrigglers.

Rocks and Beaches -

Well Team Tackle World members Juzz and Nathan are
still at it using fresh beach worms to land themselves whiting,
flathead and bream all off South Head beach - as has been happening
lately Juzz is still kicking Nathan's butt! Broulee beach is
the place to be to try your luck for a jewie with some nice ones
being brought in during the last week. Most of the beaches
are still producing good catches of salmon and tailor as well as
large bonito off the rocks of an evening. Meringo is the
place to be if you're chasing gummy sharks which are being caught
of an evening off fish bait.

Live beach worms will almost guarantee a successful session for
bream and whiting regardless of your beach of choice, and we'll try
and keep good numbers in stock over Easter if we're at all
able.

Offshore -

Team Tackle World VIP member Derek enjoyed a nice mornings fish
this week landing himself some good sized kingies, snapper,
nannygai and pigfish. Derek's favourite spot - out wide off
Pedro Point.

HOP IN STORE or watch your letterboxes this week as we release a

Moruya River and Tuross-

The upper reaches of Tuross seems to be the hotspot for bream at
the moment with Team Tackle World member Jade enjoying a great
catch and release session, scoring himself 20 bream all around the
30-40 cm mark on Cranka shallow diving lures in the snags, whilst
the Cranka vibes were the "go" amongst the oyster leases.
Also amongst Tuross' snags are some well sized perch, responding
best to Instinct Quickas. If it's Moruya you're fishing, head
down between Quarry Wharf and the flats opposite Preddies where
you'll find some nice flathead and bream which have been responding
well to Squidgy Fish Silver Fox, as well as Evil Minnows in
wrigglers.

Rocks and Beaches -

The well formed gutters at Pedro Point remain successful for
large catches of salmon, bream and mullet with Team Tackle World
member Juzz really showing up Nathan over the week with their bait
of choice being live beach worms. Live beach worms will
almost guarantee a successful session for bream and whiting
regardless of your beach of choice, and we'll try and keep good
numbers in stock over Easter if we're at all able. If
you're fishing the break wall, you're likely to be rewarded with
great catches of salmon using Arma Twistees or Arma Metalik's being
the smart choice as the tailor will hit them hard as well.

The boys from Braidwood were down last weekend and had a great
session outside on kingies, large bonito, snapper, mowies and gummy
sharks straight out the front of Moruya on the first reef.
Captain Ron also reports similar catches off the first reef as well
as flathead, nannygai and pigfish out in 50 metres of water - all
on live bait.

Apologies guys for not posting a fishing report for the last
couple of weeks, however we were in New Zealand at a Tackle World
Conference and had all sorts of "issues" with sending
e-mails. On the positive side we have got some great new
products being developed as we speak and some awesome gear from
Shimano which has been made exclusive to Tackle World stores - get
ready for some great new products!!!

Moruya and Tuross

Catches of big bream and flathead on Strada Piccola lures are
being had in the shallows down the front of both estuaries.
Team Tackle World member Jade had a good session last week off the
town wharf catching and releasing 20 flathead between 40-60 cm on
"Killer Tomato" Squidgy Fish and flathead "Killer Prawns".

Hey guys,

Here goes for this week's fishing report - I'm afraid there's
not a lot to report with the weather conditions having been quite
horrendous!

Moruya River and Tuross

Team Tackle World member Jade enjoyed a fun session earlier this
week just off the wharf at town ramp! Jade was throwing a
camion around and then decided to swap to poppers when he seen a
school of tailor and was rewarded with seven tailor off seven
casts!

Prior to the rain Jade also fished Tuross and had success using
Cranka's on bream, flathead, whiting and flounder - there were also
plenty of tailor around in Tuross as well. VIP member Tom
landed and then released a total of 24 fish in a two hour session,
with five bream all above 35 cm+.

Noel and his mate Ziggy headed back out and enjoyed a couple of
days on Tuross and believe it or not caught most of their fish in
the dirty water! However Noel did say it made it very
difficult when you're sight fishing with hard bodies. Most of
the catches were flatties - a couple around 58 cm, and 30 more
"littlies" that were thrown back.

Rocks and Beaches -

Bad news - we weren't even able to get any beach worms this
week!

Drop in store and check out our new range of Fin Nor bream
combo's - great value!!

Safe fishing everyone and remember "every day's a good day for
fishing ... " !
